The laserlight has a wavelenghth of 532 nm which corresponds to the absorption peak of haemoglobin, a biological red pigment occuring in the red blood cells of the blood. Thus haemoblobin within the blood vessels is the KTP-Laser's target. The laser light penetrates the superficial skin without causing tissue injury as its main target are dilated blood vessels. The blood vessels constricts effecting blood coagulation and photothermolysis and is selectively metabolised by the body. This is a renowned Laser technology used world wide for the treatment of benign Vascular lesions.
